Our team has a strong mix of New Zealand and international geotechnical experience from large scale corporates to local boutique consultancy. This allows us to provide a commensurate level of geotechnical expertise to any project. Our approach is to understand the project intention and become the trusted geotech member of the team.

Peter Forrest

BSc PhD FGS CGeol CMEngNZ (PEngGeol)

Director and Principal Engineering Geologist

Pete has been an international engineering geologist for the last 25 years and has worked on a wide variety of engineering infrastructure projects in the UK, Ireland, Albania, Australia and New Zealand.

Having spent a lot of time in Christchurch working through the Earthquake damage in corporate firms, Pete made the move to Auckland to a boutique firm and extended their operations to Queenstown. Following this success Pete formed Geotago in 2021.

Pete is a Chartered member of the NZ Geotechnical Society and a member of the International Association of Engineering geologists.

Tom Goosey

BSc (Geol) MEngSc (EngGeol & Geotech)

Senior Engineering Geologist

Tom studied Geology and Engineering Geology at Canterbury University and later obtained his masters degree in Engineering Geology in Engineering Geology and Geotechnical Engineering at the University of New South Wales.

Tom has spent 10 years working in Australia on a number of large scale mining and civil infrastructure projects across Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. He made his return to New Zealand in 2018 and worked as a project manager for a civil earthworks company in Auckland before making the move to Queenstown.
